Opel Performance is the Brand Champion

Özen Özer, Berke Bayındır, and Alptekin Işıkalp who proved to be so successful at the 2007 Turkish Track Championship led their team to the championship with the 225 points they received. Moreover, the Group 1600 driver Özen Özer received 120 points from the 12 races he attended which is the highest point one could ever get from these races and won the title.

This season Opel Performance received points as a brand at the Turkish Track Championship and Kosifler Motorsports, Castrol Speed Corners, and Arkas received points as a team. Last year Opel Performance won the title at the championship where brands and teams raced together. This year Opel Performance won the brand title with 225 points which is 18 points higher than the team which won the teams’ title.

This season started with the races held in May at the Izmir Race Track and 14 races took place and it ended again in Izmir in the last week of October. Opel Performance ended the season as the champion once more. Just like previous years, Opel Performance won the title at the Turkish Track Championship and the Group 1600 driver Özen Özer became the championship in his category.

As you would remember Opel Performance decided to work with young drivers in 2005 and Cemil Çıpa became the champion in Group 1600 in the same year. In 2006 another young driver Berke Bayındır won the title of this category. And this season in 2007 another young talent Özen Özer led his team to the top in Group 1600. Consequently, Opel Performance won the title in brands and teams championships in three successive years and brought in 3 new young champions to motor sports.

The favorite team of tracks Opel Performance won the title at the Brands Championship with 225 points in 2007 with its young drivers and tens of cups won. Castrol Speed Corners became the first as a team with 2007 points, Kosifler Motorsport became the second with 193 points, and finally, Arkas Racing became the third with 38 points.
