Now it is time for the Turkish Track Championship to take place at the Gulf Track
Opel Performance will be racing with 2 cars at the sixth leg of the highly contentious championship which will take place at the Gulf Track on October 6 and 7. 2006 Turkish Track Champion in Group 1600 Berke Bayındır who is racing at Group 2000 this season and Özen Özer who is representing his team in Group 1600 this season will be on track with their Corsas at the Gulf Track and will be meeting Istanbul and Kocaeli fans for the last time this season.
Having won 3 cups at the fifth leg of the races in Izmir, the Opel Performance team is aiming at declaring Özen’s title for 2007 in Group 1600 this weekend. Özen Özer has ranked the first in all of the 10 races this season. Berke Bayındır has also succeeded climbing on the stage among two other rivals racing with their BMW’s in Group 2000 in Izmir.
Enis Alpsoy stated that they will be bold and brave in challenging their rivals at the Gulf Track as always and added that he hoped to see race directors and officials more attentive at the coming race as he drew attention to the high tension among drivers at Group 2000 in the last two races.
Trainings and qualifying tours will take place on Saturday, October 6 at the sixth leg of the Turkish Track Championship and the first race will start at 16:10. The second start for the races at the Gulf track will be at 15:40 on Sunday, October 7.
